Sometime back in 2014, I mentioned to my parents that we needed a waffle maker. So with-out hesitation they immediately gave us their’s. I was pretty excited since this was still in the box with the original owners manual. How cool is that?

The waffle maker was manufactured by Vitantonio Manufacturing Company. At least that’s what is written on the front of the owner’s manual. The subject of this article “Quick Belgian Waffles” was taken from the owner’s manual/recipe book.
After reading the receipt we discovered it was purchased from Marshall Fields back in 1994. Anyone remember Marshall Fields? Must have been a Christmas gift. The owner’s manual includes several recipes. Since it was from the manufacture of course I had to try it out. However, since most books do not show step-by-step directions I’ve decided to create my own.Here is how I make Quick Belgian Waffles.
First, gather the ingredients.
Start by scrambling 3 eggs in a mixing bowl.
*Makes about 180 pizzelles 1/2 cup shortening 2/3 cup sugar 3 extra large eggs Approx. 13/4 cups flour 1 tsp. Baking powder pinch of salt Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, mix until smooth. Add flour, baking powder, salt & vanilla. (A lit- tle at a time).

Measure 1 tablespoon vanilla, and 1 cup of milk.
Add the vanilla and milk to the scrambled eggs.

Melt a 1/2 cup of butter.
Add the melted butter to the wet ingredients and set aside.
In another bowl mix the dry ingredients.
*2 cups flour
*1/2 teaspoon of salt
*1 tablespoon baking powder
*2 teaspoons granulated sugar
Whisk together the dry ingredients.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until batter forms.
Keep mixing until the lumps are gone or at least the batter is smooth as shown below.
Pour batter into heated waffle maker and cook as directed. For our waffle maker that is about 2 1/2 to 3 minutes.
